Tweaking.com download the program and run in safe mode,let it sort all the registry values and what not it worked for me,then shut down and boot up again hey presto.... It plays on the dvd player fine. Double-click the device category, and then double-click your device. The drive still works for other types of discs (audio, recordable CDs and recordable DVDs), just not with DVD-Roms.
